The Haliburton Highlands is a wonderful place to celebrate. Everywhere you look there is beauty. The area has a feeling of happiness, of relaxation and increased resilience to stress. After spending a short time here most people can't help but feel optimistic and hopeful. The Dominion Hotel, located in charming downtown Minden right on the beautiful Gull River is a gorgeous, convenient and affordable venue to gather your friends and family to celebrate your special occasion.

Our "Boathouse" has a greenhouse feeling. With windows all around it is filled with sunlight. Views of the Gull River and our Meditation Garden can be seen the whole length of the building. We have hosted gatherings from 30 people to 95 people in our Boathouse. A separate entrance gives easy access. We are wheelchair accessible.

Our Grill on the Gull venue sits on the Gull River and is a charming small venue for groups up to 50 is suitable for more formal settings. Patio doors open onto the Gull River. Soft tones from our grand piano and the rooms euro design give a romantic feel This room seats up to 50 people.

We offer a riverside experience on our large deck over the Gull River. With seating for up to 80 this deck offers gorgeous views of the river and our Meditation Garden. This garden is an excellent spot to sit and 'catch your breath'.

We have flexible options for food and work with you to customize your event according to your budget. We feature menus ranging from formal and elegant sit down dining to casual buffet.

Our gardens along the Gull River provide a romantic setting for photos or just for relaxing.

And we have comfortable and modern overnight accommodation on premise to ease the logistics of your event.

The Dominion Hotel / Grill on the Gull are historic properties with character and charm. Both have been lovingly cared for and updated to modern standards for the utmost in comfort and convenience.
